COVENANT HOUSE
Unbreakable CAMPAIGN 2026

AGENCY: MEKANISM CANADA
ROLE: DESIGN DIRECTOR

Youth homelessness is too often defined by circumstance. This campaign reframed it around resilience.

The platform, Home of the Unbreakable, positions Covenant House as a home for young people who are still fighting. Copy written in first-person voice centres strength without erasing reality.

Strict brand guidelines kept the logo untouchable. Rather than working around that constraint, we leaned into it, scaling the dove from the mark into a full compositional system that carries through every format. Breaking Unbreakable out in yellow gave the word the visual weight the platform demanded.

With no time for a photoshoot and AI off the table, the work relied on sourced photography against a demanding set of sensitivities. The images had to feel grounded in Toronto without triggering stigma associations, authentic without veering into exploitation, and honest without tipping into despair.

The campaign ran across TTC platforms, subway cards, wildposting, and DOOH at all of Toronto’s major instersections. The simplicity in the design system allowed it to scale at all touchpoints.
