Miller TAvern
Identity & Collateral

AGENCY: MODEL/CTZN
ROLE: LEAD DESIGNER

Toronto's oldest restaurant deserved a brand as storied as its bones. Established in 1857 on Yonge Street in what was then countryside, Miller Tavern's rebrand called for heritage without nostalgia, something rooted in the place rather than performing it. I directed and designed a visual identity built on the tavern's original character: an engraved hunting dog mark, a deep forest green and burnt orange palette, and the typeface Miller by Matthew Carter, a happy coincidence that the name matched. The system extended across a full suite of collateral including matchbooks, coasters, business cards, dinnerware, and menus, all designed to match the richness of the newly redesigned interior where every touchpoint feels like it's always belonged there.
